AI video generation tool Haiper has successfully secured $13.8 million in its latest seed round of financing, with Octopus Ventures being the lead investor and 5Y Capital also participating in the round. This comes after the company had already raised $5.4 million in a pre-seed round earlier in April 2022, with support from notable angel investors including Phil Blunsom and Nando de Freitas.

The brainchild of former DeepMind members Yishu Miao and Ziyu Wang, Haiper offers users the ability to create videos by inputting text prompts on its website, albeit with certain limitations. However, the company is planning to enhance its video generation capabilities and has already begun exploring commercial applications in partnership with companies such as JD.com.
