Madhabi PuriBuch, CEO of SEBI, emphasized the urgent need for traditional regulated markets to adapt and evolve in order to keep up with the rising popularity and demand for cryptocurrency. She stressed that the lack of tokenization and instant settlement in traditional markets could ultimately drive Indian investors towards the realm of cryptocurrency. It is imperative for well-regulated markets to prioritize instant settlement in order to effectively compete with cryptocurrency. Thus, it is crucial for traditional markets to innovate and modernize in order to maintain their relevance and appeal to investors.
