As I observe my middle-aged friends, I have noticed a fascinating transformation that tends to occur around the ages of 35 to 40. It's as if they become entirely different people at this stage of life. Those who once coveted material possessions such as cars and watches have shifted their focus to collecting tea cakes, old wine, and cigars. Those with greater wealth might invest in purple clay pots, renowned calligraphy and paintings, or oil paintings. As for those who seek a deeper sense of spirituality, they embark on studying various forms of Buddhism, including Esoteric Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, and Tibetan Buddhism. Some have even gone so far as to create a dedicated Buddhist meditation space in their homes, where they spend time in daily meditation. This evolution in my friends' pursuits is both intriguing and somewhat perplexing to me, as I struggle to comprehend their profound shift in values. In essence, I find myself grappling with the notion of xxxxx decline.
